About the role

This is a technology-driven role. We build and run WordPress sites for nonprofits, advocacy groups, media outlets, and growing businesses. AI agents handle a lot of our day-to-day work: QA, bug fixes, triage, and drafting.

We're hiring someone to own client accounts from start to finish and to direct those AI tools, not just use them.

What you'll do

  • •Be the main contact for our clients. Run calls, set expectations, and keep projects moving without escalating every decision.
  • •Turn client feedback into clear tasks, then push them through design, dev, QA, and launch.
  • •Direct our AI agents. Write and refine their skills and prompts, connect tools through MCP, and check what they produce before it reaches a client.
  • •Manage our staging-to-production flow and decide what's ready to go live.
  • •Triage every day. Separate the mission-critical from the critical and the merely important.
  • •Spot retainer and upsell opportunities in the accounts you run.

Must-haves

You won't get an interview without these.

  • •Hands-on AI experience beyond chat. You've connected MCP servers, written agent skills or prompts, or built automations with tools like Claude Code or Cursor. Include an example.
  • •3+ years building websites or producing client-facing designs at an agency, studio, or in-house team.
  • •Comfort with GitHub. At least enough to read a PR, follow a deploy, and run QA.
  • •Clear, calm communication with clients, including when the news is bad.

Nice to have

  • •Nonprofit, political, or media clients.
  • •WordPress experience: themes, plugins, hosting, and dev/staging/production.
  • •SEO basics.
  • •Design chops in Figma.
